is perfect tonic for boss

NEWCASTLE United showed no mercy to struggling Manchester United with an emphatic win to climb to fourth in the table.
On a day in which Eddie Howe watched on from his sickbed after an illness this week, his spirits must have been lifted highly as his Magpies turned on the style. Howe's name was chanted by the Gallowgate End on a day to remember for the supporters as goals from Harvey Barnes (2), Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes chalked up a big victory.
The bumper win meant that Newcastle players made history by recording their first Premier League double over the Red Devils and first double in 94 years against the men from Old Trafford. And how the Geordie faithful enjoyed it.
After chants from the away end mocking Alan Shearer and Andy Cole taunts, Newcastle hit back with: “You laughed at us when we went down but who the **** is laughing now?” And: “Fergie was right your fans are *****”
Joelinton did have the ball in the net after just 49 seconds but the strike was ruled out for offside at the Leazes End. A Dan Burn challenge on Alejandro Garnacho saw the Blyth warrior snap into a tackle then roar to the Milburn Stand as Newcastle attempted to set the tone.
