'Immature' defendant attacked woman after Christmas Day split

A WOMAN was attacked by her partner on Christmas Day after telling him their relationship was over.

Aiden Heppell, pictured left, ruined the festive period when he grabbed the woman's neck and landed multiple blows.
Newcastle Crown Court heard the couple were at home with a friend and had been drinking alcohol and watching a film when an argument blew up at about 5.30pm on December 25 last year.
She told him she wanted to end the relationship and asked him to leave but he refused.
