COMPANY SAYS IT PLANS TO PRODUCE MOTORHOMES
HUNDREDS of redundancies could be made at a North East caravan manufacturer which is set to cease production amid a dramatic drop in demand.
Elddis - part of the Erwin Hymer Group - has been manufacturing RVs for around 60 years but recent years has seen a steep drop in demand in its main market.
Now, two years after a major restructure led to the loss of around 190 jobs, the company has announced a switch in strategy which will bring production to an end at the Consett site.
