Fire crew save gull caught by foot on aerial
The Chronicle
|August 21, 2025
A "SEAGULL in distress" was rescued after becoming entangled in a TV aerial in North Shields.
-
The incident saw two fire engines called out to Howdon Road on Monday.
The bird had string around its foot which had caught on a TV aerial - and this then saw the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service called by a concerned resident.
The Sunderland-based Pawz for Thought wildlife rescue and adoption charity were then called as per an agreement they have with the fire service to support with incidents like this one.
