Drink-driving footballer pulled over by police after downing post-match pints
The Chronicle
|November 06, 2025
A NORTHUMBERLAND footballer was caught drink-driving when an officer spotted him leaving a pub after he had enjoyed some post-match pints.
-
Nathan Allan, a manager at a Volvo dealership, had played a game for Seghill Village FC in Northumberland, when he and his teammates went to the Blake Arms for some food and drink. However, police spotted the 29-year-old dad leaving the pub's car park in his Volvo V60 and decided to pull him over.
A court heard that Allan failed a roadside breath test, having had three pints, and later gave a reading of 51mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath when the legal limit is 35mcg.
