Biker joined in his final ride by family and fellow riders

A GATESHEAD biker was joined by his family and fellow motorcyclists as he took his final ride yesterday, with his eldest daughter Ceri saying: “We will love you eternally.

The life of Malcolm Wigham was the subject of a beautiful service at Mountsett Crematorium in Dipton, where he made an incredible entrance alongside his bike-riding friends.

The 59-year-old, who passed away seven months after being told he had a brain tumour, was flanked in the hearse by around 50 motorcycles, all being ridden by people who Malcolm connected with during his life when he attended countless events and gatherings.

As the procession arrived, those on motorcycles revved their engines in tribute to Malcolm, with the incredible noise filling the air and creating a truly poignant moment that will live long in the memory of those who attended.

Then, as Malcolm was being carried into the building, and guests began to enter, the first piece of music, Highway to Hell by AC/DC, welcomed everybody in. The sense of humour and “craziness” that Malcolm possessed would continue to be evident as the service went on.
