Runners step out for pub-to-pub half marathon

BEAR Inns hosted the first-ever Pub to Pub Half Marathon, a 13.8 mile walk/run with 480 metres elevation between its two pubs, The Swan in Tarporley and The Lion in Malpas, in support of North West Cancer Research and The Licensed Trade Charity.

The event saw 50 enthusiastic participants take on the challenging cross-country route in warm weather, raising funds and awareness for two causes close to the hearts of the Bear Inns team and their patrons.

Woody Barlow, owner of Bear Inns, said: "The idea behind the Pub to Pub was simple. A tough but enjoyable challenge that brings people together and gives back.

"We're absolutely thrilled with the turnout, amount raised and the incredible community spirit shown by everyone who took part."
