The Chester Chronicle
|June 19, 2025
THE Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been recognised as one of the top-performing trusts in England for children’s patient experience.
-
It ranks ninth out of the 54 organisations that took part in the 2024 Children and Young Person National CQC Survey.
Conducted by Picker on behalf of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), this survey is a key part of the NHS Patient Survey Programme, designed to benchmark trusts across the country and drive continual improvement in care standards.
The 2024 survey included feedback from families across 98 questions which provided valuable insights into the experiences of children, young people and their parents.
The trust received higher-than-average scores in several key areas:
Children were able to access hospital food outside of normal mealtimes.
There was sufficient choice of food available.
Staff were praised for doing everything they could to help manage pain.
