BBC's DIY SOS to help childhood cancer charity
The Chester Chronicle
|July 10, 2025
A CHESHIRE charity dedicated to supporting families affected by childhood cancers has been chosen by BBC Children in Need to benefit from this year's DIY SOS build.
The Joshua Tree, based in Northwich, has grown significantly since it was founded in 2006 and, due to increasing demand, is in desperate need of more space.
The DIY SOS team, who will be partnering with BBC One's Morning Live for the project in September, will attempt to transform the site by extending all the facilities to accommodate more children and their families.
Presenter Nick Knowles appeared on Morning Live to announce the new build and encourage tradespeople and businesses to volunteer their time, services or materials in order to get it off the ground.
He said: “We have another huge build ahead of us in Cheshire, which will benefit children who are going through cancer treatment and help support their families too.
“If you have a trade, a skill, can spare some time to graft or can help us with materials then get in touch.
