Tinubu to Police: Protect, Don't Intimidate
The Business NG
|The BusinessNG
President Bola Tinubu has issued a strong rebuke to police officers across the country, warning them to desist from acts of intimidation, abuse, and misconduct in the discharge of their duties.
-
The president stressed that the Nigeria Police Force must anchor its operations on professionalism, accountability, and the unwavering protection of citizens' rights.
Speaking through Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the 2nd Annual Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Award and Commendation Night in Abuja on Wednesday, Tinubu reminded officers that the authority they carry is a public trust — one that must not be weaponised against the same masses they are sworn to protect.
