Apapa’s notorious gridlock is back with a vengeance, despite multimillion-naira investments in the electronic truck call-up system (ETO)

Apapa’s notorious gridlock is back with a vengeance, despite multimillion-naira investments in the electronic truck call-up system (ETO), according to truckers who describe the system as “a money-making racket riddled with corruption.”

In a recent interview with journaliss, the National President of the Amalgamated Truck Owners Association of Nigeria (ATOAN), Bello Ridwan, accused the private operator of thee-call-up platform, Truck Transit Park (TTP), of failing to deliver on its promise of a transparent and efficient scheduling system for trucks accessing Lagos ports.

"I feel this is just a money-making scheme. We are not solving problems," Ridwan said, warning that congestion, delays, and extortion have worsened since the introduction of ETO.
