An Air Peace aircraft operating Flight P47190 from Lagos to Port Harcourt experienced a runway excursion after landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Though no injuries were recorded and all passengers disembarked safely, the incident has reignited concerns over operational safety standards within Nigeria's domestic aviation sector.

According to a statement by Air Peace spokesperson, Osifo-Whiskey Efe, the aircraft veered slightly off the runway upon landing but came to a complete stop without structural damage. The airline emphasized that safety protocols were promptly activated and the situation was professionally managed by the crew. “The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage. All passengers disembarked safely and calmly, and no injuries were reported,” the statement noted.
