Wipro cuts new hiring amid tech spending slowdown

Wipro Ltd., an Indian outsourcing company for computer services, has announced that it will be hiring fewer engineering graduates this year due to cautious clients who are reducing their spending.

Wipro announced that it would first consider hiring those to whom it had already extended offers but had not yet brought on board, in place of its customary aggressive recruitment drive. The fourth-largest software services company in India made the remarks along with news of slowing sales in the second quarter of its fiscal year and net profits that fell short of expert projections.
