Top 10 Indian firms lose Rs 1.52 lakh cr in m-cap

In the past week, India’s top 10 most valuable companies witnessed a collective drop in market capitalization, with significant losses incurred primarily by Reliance Industries and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), as the equity market faced a period of weakness.

The BSE benchmark index, Sensex, reported a decline of 885.12 points, equivalent to a 1.33 percent decrease in the last week. This downturn significantly impacted the combined market valuation of the top 10 companies, resulting in a staggering loss of Rs 1,52,979.78 crore.
Reliance Industries, a conglomerate with interests in petrochemicals, retail, and telecommunications, took a substantial hit, with its market valuation plunging by Rs 34,876.78 crore, reducing it to Rs 15,55,531.53 crore.
