The Supreme Court in the case Coaching Federation Of India Versus Government Of NCT Of Delhi And Ors observed wherein the suo motu case is filed of the tragic flooding incident at Old Rajinder Nagar, Delhi, in which 3 students lost their lives.

The Supreme Court in the case called for states or UTs response on Model Rules on Infrastructure, Safety and Regulation of Private Coaching Institutes, 2024 crafted by the Amicus Curiae in the matter.

The bench comprising of Justice Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan was hearing the present matter.

The counsel, Senior Advocate Siddharth Dave, the Amicus submitted before the court that the draft rules have been circulated among the states or UTs.

In the present case, the petition is filed by Coaching Federation of India against a Delhi High Court order of December 2023, wherein the court issued a slew of directions to effectively regulate the exercise of inspection of all coaching centres.
