In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the Supreme Court of India is organizing a special Lok Adalat from July 29 to August 3. This initiative aims to facilitate the amicable settlement of pending cases, reflecting the Court's dedication to enhancing alternative dispute resolution and expediting justice.
A press statement from the Supreme Court emphasized the significance of Lok Adalats within the Indian judicial system. These adalats play a crucial role in promoting alternative dispute resolution, thus fostering quicker and more harmonious settlements. The upcoming Lok Adalat aligns with the Supreme Court's commitment to ensuring accessible and efficient justice for all societal segments.
During this special Lok Adalat, various cases with potential for settlement will be considered. These include matrimonial and property disputes, motor accident claims, land acquisition issues, compensation cases, and service and labor disputes. All these cases, currently pending before the Supreme Court, will be prioritized to ensure speedy resolutions.
