Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday informed global stakeholders that India is prioritising clean energy supply chains as part of its domestic policy of undertaking robust climate actions through nationally determined contributions (NDC)s, which include an ambitious programme for a transition to clean energy. Participating in the launch of the “Partnership for Resilient and Inclusive Supply chain Enhancement” (RISE) initiative at the World BankIMF annual meetings in Marrakech, Morocco, Sitharaman emphasised on the hard-earned consensus by the G20 Presidency on the need to rapidly scale up renewable energy capacity as well as the Global Biofuels Alliance initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders summit.
