26,041,426 litres of fuel saved by EVs under FAME II

Electric vehicles supported under FAME India (Faster Elect Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in India) Scheme II have saved 26,041,426 litres of fuel resulting in reduction of 37,718,893 kg of CO2 already. According to the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), under the FAME India Scheme II, about 1,016,598 EVS have been supported by way of demand incentive. The sales of EVs, which was negligible in 2014, has now reached around 5 per cent of total vehicle sales, the Ministry said on Thursday, outlining the Ministry's commitment to sustainable devel
