PM Modi to unveil Rs 50k cr expansion project of BPCL refinery

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for an Rs 50,000 crore expansion project at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited>s (BPCL) Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh on 14 September.

This would be one of the largest investments in the state, creating thousands of jobs in the region. The Bina refinery, located in Sagar district, has a current capacity (crude distillation/ vacuum distillation unit) of 7.7 million metric tons per annum, and the expansion aims to take this figure to 11 MMTPA and is expected to be completed by 2024, says Sagar Collector Deepak Arya.
