Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Monday that India is becoming an increasingly important participant in the global supply chain, with this expanding capacity serving as the basis for the country's economic growth.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Tuticorin International Container Terminal via video message, he highlighted innovation and collaboration as key strengths in India's development journey.
He praised the new Tuticorin International Container Terminal, calling it a 'new star of India's marine infrastructure.' With a deep draft of over 14 meters and a berth extending more than 300 meters, the terminal is set to enhance the capacity of the V.O. Chidambaranar Port. The Prime Minister mentioned that the terminal is expected to lower logistics costs at the port, contributing to foreign exchange savings for India.
