Ex-RG Kar College principal Sandip Ghosh moves Supreme Court against High Court ordering CBI probe into alleged financial irregularities

The Supreme Court in the case Sandip Ghosh v WB observed wherein the former Principal of RG Kar Hospital Sandip Ghosh has moved the court challenging the order of Calcutta High Court to transfer the SIT probe into alleged irregularities in the tender processes and mismanagement by Ghosh, to the Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI.

Sandip Ghosh was the Principal of the Hospital and College where the brutal rape and murder of a junior doctor took place on August 09, 2024.

On August 13, 2024, the High Court had transferred the investigation to Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI relating to the doctor's death.

The present matter is listed before the bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud for admission hearing on September 06, 2024.

Before the Apex Court, it has been contended by Gosh that the investigation was transferred by the High Court without giving him an opportunity to be heard.

Sandip Gosh is being aggrieved by the observations of High Court's apparently linking the corruption allegations against him to the incident at the hospital.
