Electric bus penetration set to double next fiscal: Report
The Business Guardian
|December 19, 2023
A report suggests that despite persistent counterparty risks and the limited availability of charging stations, the share of electric buses (e-buses) is poised to double to 8 percent in the next fiscal year.
-
The increase is attributed to supportive policy measures and favorable ownership costs, according to a report by Crisil Ratings.
The report highlights the government’s commitment to overall decarbonization, with a particular focus on public transport as a primary enabler. Aiding this shift is the attractive total cost of ownership, which is expected to
drive e-bus sales to 8 percent of new sales in the upcoming fiscal year, up from around 4 percent in the current fiscal year.
