Chaitanyananda Saraswati, accused of sexually harassing 16 students at a private institute in southwest Delhi, on Friday withdrew his bail plea before a Delhi court, stating he would await the Delhi Police's final report.

The self-styled godman, who also served as the former chairman of the management institute, is currently in judicial custody over allegations of molestation involving several women.

His counsel informed Additional Sessions Judge Deepti Devesh that the bail plea was being withdrawn as the charges required further examination following the submission of the chargesheet.

In accordance with the court's earlier directions, the Delhi Police submitted astatus report noting that most of the witnesses in the case had been examined.
