'Centre allocates Rs 6,080 cr for TN rail development'

The Central government has allocated a substantial sum of 6,080 crore rupees for the development of Tamil Nadu’s railway sector in the past year, according to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

Highlighting the stark difference from previous allotments, Vaishnaw noted that under the previous administration, the allocation for Tamil Nadu stood at a mere 879 crores. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the significant increase in funding, emphasizing the state’s progress in several pending railway projects.
Addressing the state’s infrastructural advancements, Vaishnaw revealed ongoing redevelopment work at 75 railway stations in Tamil Nadu. These projects aim to elevate these stations to world-class standards, enhancing both their functionality and aesthetics.
