APEDA logs $26.7 bn shipments with 12% CAGR to 200+ countries in FY23

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), is planning trial shipments of mangoes and pomegranates to the USA and the European Union using strategic development of protocols tailored for sea transport which helps to optimise the export process for promising fresh fruits.

A Commerce Ministry arm, APEDA has achieved USD 26.7 billion of exports of agricultural products in the year 2022-23 and expanded the export basket to over 200 countries.
Growing at an compounded annual growth rate of 12 percent, from merely USD 0.6 billion export in 1987-88, APEDA's exports has grown to a share of 51 percent in India's total agricultural products export of USD 53.1 billion in the period 2022-23, Chairman, APEDA Abhishek Dev said on Tuesday which also marked 38 years of the statutory organization under the administrative control of the Department of Commerce
