5.9-quake rocks Sultan Kudarat

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that a magnitude-5.9 earthquake jolted Sultan Kudarat on Easter Sunday, April 20, shaking several parts of Mindanao and triggering dozens of aftershocks.

Phivolcs said the offshore quake struck at 12:11 a.m., with the epicenter 51 kilometers southwest of Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat.

The tremor was felt at Intensity V (strong) in Kiamba, Sarangani and Lebak, Sultan Kudarat; and Intensity IV (moderately strong) in Alabel, Glan, and Maitum in Sarangani and Tupi in South Cotabato.
