Volunteers Struggle To Contain Blaze While Forest Department Officials Remain Absent On Site

A massive forest fire broke out yesterday afternoon in the Ramdara pilgrimage area, located on the hills under the jurisdiction of the Forest Department, causing extensive damage to both flora and fauna. The fire has destroyed millions of trees and severely impacted small insects, reptiles, and wildlife in the region.

The blaze was first reported in the early afternoon, prompting immediate action by local environmental groups. Amit Jagtap, founder and president of the Green Foundation, along with a team of volunteers, rushed to the site to attempt fire control. Using bundles of sticks, tree branches, and other makeshift tools, the volunteers tried to contain the flames. However, strong winds spread the fire rapidly, rendering their efforts largely ineffective.
