Ealham and Stevens swing tide Llamas' way
Surrey Mirror
|June 19, 2025
A BRILLIANT performance from Reigate Priory at Esher and a fantastic run chase has put the Llamas top of the Surrey Championship Premier Division a third of the way through the season.
-
Priory won the toss on a sunny day and put Esher into bat. Esher started positively adding 34 in the first eight overs; then Fraser Sheat bowled Northants Justin Broad for 19, after his long trip back from Durham the night before when he'd been playing T20 for Northants that Friday evening (taking 2-22 and scoring 30).
An inspirational change from skipper George Ealham then saw Caleb Whitefoord take two wickets in one over with Nicholas Smit caught for eight, and Craig Meschede bowled first ball leaving Esher 45-3. However, Esher skipper Teague Wyllie was then joined at the crease by David Brent, and they took Esher to 151-3 at lunch.
