Borough recorded huge number of fly-tipping incidents

NEW figures have revealed that more than twice as many incidents of fly-tipping have been reported in one area of Surrey than in the borough with the next-highest number of reports.

The new data shows how much waste each of Surrey's 11 local authorities produces each year and how many reports of fly-tipping are made in each area.

HIPPO Waste, a national rubbish removal service, collated the data based on the latest government statistics and has created a league table of all of Surrey's local authorities based on the total tonnes of waste collected in the year ending March 2024, as well as a table for the number of fly-tipping incidents recorded in the same period.
