British TV presenter, actor and comedian Stephen Mangan on why ITV1's big-money show The Fortune Hotel is unmissable summer television
-
fBritish TV presenter, actor and comedian Stephen Mangan were to be a contestant in The Fortune Hotel, knowing what he knows now, he would have a winning strategy to keep hold of the jackpot briefcase.
The 57-year-old says he would be likeable, good-but not too good-at the games to keep suspicious eyes off him, remain cool under pressure and take calculated risks.
But for the 10 pairs of holidaymakers who have checked into a luxury Caribbean resort for season two of the ITV1 reality competition, they may need to take things a step further.
Upon arrival, contestants receive a briefcase, which is either empty, packed with £250,000, or an early checkout card.
As the eight-part series progresses, Mangan, who portrays Nathan Stern in BBC One's The Split, will present a mixture of new challenges to provoke case-swapping drama during The Night Cap - the final part of the day-and help the holidaymakers avoid elimination and secure the prize.
All the most-loved aspects of the game show will still be included, in addition to the new Day Trip challenges, Room Service games that will now take place around the hotel, and surprising revelations that will make keeping hold of the prized case even harder.
The last pair of holidaymakers holding the briefcase containing the jackpot wins the series.
