Traoré insists Black Cats deserved more from home draw with Toffees

Sunderland's Bertrand Traore tries to get past Everton's Vitaly Mykolenko at the Stadium of Light.

The winger, who started against the Toffees in the Premier League clash, felt the Black Cats were made to pay for a slow opening period, but praised the team's resilience and character to respond.

"No, of course not. I think we deserved more," Traoré said after the game when asked if the result was fair.

"At the end we have to take the point, but I think we could have taken all three points if we started the game better. I think it's because of a little bit of a sloppy start that we ended up with a draw."

Traoré dismissed suggestions that Sunderland's nervous start reflected any lack of composure, insisting the side has enough experience and maturity to learn quickly.
