Restaurants pick up hat-trick of awards at the Curry Oscars

The Babaji team collecting their award. My Delhi were also honoured on the night.

The cream of Britain's Indian food industry gathered in London on Sunday night for the Asian Curry Awards.

Regarded as the 'Curry Oscars', the awards were announced at a glittering gala dinner and presentation, organised by the Asian Catering Federation and attended by 1,200 VIP guests at the Grosvenor House in London's Mayfair.

The winners were chosen from all over the UK by the Asian Catering Federation's esteemed panel of judges from a list of finalists voted for by the spice-loving public.

The 46 awards had categories across fine dining, casual dining, street food, take away and many more, and covered all Asian and Oriental cuisines.

And Sunderland did very well indeed on the night - with Babaji, Yuvraaj and My Delhi all bringing home top awards.
