Protest reinforces just why message is still needed

And once again the usual suspects emerged online to criticise the players and their high profile statement to end discrimination.

As long as it makes people feel uncomfortable then there is a place for taking the knee until change comes.

On Saturday the younger son's under-15s game saw a racial slur directed at one of his teammates by an opponent.

The referee didn't hear it, and neither did any of the adults on the touchline, and the game was allowed to finish without any action.

The following day lightning struck twice.
