Co-Ride service to reduce carbon emissions in city
Sunderland Echo
|November 21, 2025
A new 'Co-Ride' initiative has been introduced in the city to reduce carbon emissions as well as helping to keep more money in people's wallets.
Co-Ride founder Andrew Crossley.
The service connects everyday drivers with verified passengers heading in the same direction, reducing travel costs, emissions, and congestion across the city.
Founded in Sunderland, the initiative has been launched across the region with a mission to make travel across the North East cheaper, greener, and more community-driven.
Co-Ride is a shared-journey platform designed to connect drivers with spare seats to passengers travelling the same way.
