March against undocumented foreigners

THE spate of crime that is perpetrated allegedly by undocumented foreign nationals has jolted an award-winning radio personality to organise a march in protest against illegal immigration and related crimes in Durban tomorrow.

The March in March campaign has drawn many supporters, including the political parties African Transformation Movement (ATM), National Freedom Party (NFP), ActionSA and radio personality Jacinta Ngobese Zuma, who is one of its organisers. The meeting point for the march is King Dinuzulu Gardens at 9am and will finish at the Durban City Hall.

Zwakele Mncwango, ActionSA's chairperson for KwaZulu-Natal said: "We will stand alongside the organisers of the march and fellow South Africans in demanding stronger immigration enforcement and policies that prioritise the well-being of our communities and local businesses."

The party's policy on immigration is that it should be managed to benefit the local economy and ensure locals are prioritised.

"This is why we launched the #Spaza4Locals campaign in early 2024, aiming to reclaim the R200billion township economy from foreign nationals back to local entrepreneurs," said Mngcwango.

He said the party had successfully intervened at St Benedictine Hospital in KwaNongoma and eMadadeni Hospital in Newcastle.
