WHITLEY Bay continued their outstanding start to the season with a hard-earned home win against fellow promotion contenders Shildon.
Jay Bates’ side went into the game looking to make it ten games unbeaten in the league and that was exactly what they did as second-half goals from Callum Larmouth and Layton Campbell gave them all three points at Hillheads.
Horden CW lie four points behind the Bay after they came from two goals down to claim a 4-2 win at Newcastle Benfield.
Andre Bennett and Joseph Thompson scored to give the hosts a two-goal lead at the break - but Horden roared back to claim the honours with a David Doughty brace and a goal apiece from Taylor Campbell and Jack Pounder.
