Actress and film producer Caprice Bourret on her latest romcom and why making movies has been her smartest move yet

'We shouldn't be scared of our age'

Having conquered the worlds of lingerie and homeware, Caprice Bourret is now well on her way to becoming the film world's unofficial queen of romcoms. She's already produced, starred in and - more importantly for business-savvy Caprice - successfully sold the screening rights to three films, and has just wrapped on her fourth.

For the entrepreneur, model and actress, 53, it's her proudest achievement to date after her two sons Jax and Jett. Now that the boys, who she shares with her husband Ty Comfort, are approaching their teenage years, she's “100% back in the workforce” and relishing every moment.

“I'm getting better every time and I’m getting a reputation,” she tells us during an exclusive catch-up from Ibiza, the set location of her latest movie, A Royal Romance In Ibiza. “Some people respect me, some people don't like me because they just don't like me, but I am so proud of what I’m doing. I'm working hard and it’s paying off.”

Here, Caprice tells us more about her film career...

Hi Caprice! How have people’s opinions changed from your first film to this one?

I won't beat around the bush here, but I don’t care what people say. I’m really proud of what I’ve done.

As a woman, and especially a woman at 53, I want to make good movies. I’m not only doing it, but I sell in 25 different countries, for a budget where I can see a return. To people out there who are scared to move forward for whatever reason I say, “If you have a dream, don’t worry about the obstacles, go out and do it.”

Do you wish you’d started sooner?
