Cancer fear as hospital admissions soar
THE number of babies taken to hospital with horrific burns after being left out in the sun has increased by over a quarter.
Doctors treated 175 cases in the last five years, up 26% on the 139 in the previous five years, NHS figures show.
In many cases, the parents had unwittingly left their babies out in the sun without protection then returned to find them badly burned, hospital records show.
