Tottenham is a big club... they just need to start acting like one - Levy has to back new boss for this to work

- BY SIMON MULLOCK

FORMER Tottenham striker Gerry Armstrong has urged Daniel Levy to start acting like the chairman of a BIG club.

Belfast-born powerhouse Armstrong spent five seasons with Spurs during a career that saw him capped 63 times by Northern Ireland.

And he believes Tottenham chief Levy got it wrong when he sacked manager Ange Postecoglou in the aftermath of a Europa League triumph that took the Londoners back into the Champions League.

But Armstrong is happy that his old club have at least taken a correct turn by swooping on Brentford for Thomas Frank.

Now he wants to see Levy (right) give Frank the financial backing the ex-Bees boss will need to make sure another Premier League nightmare doesn't unfold at Spurs next season.

"Tottenham are a massive club and after winning the Europa League they are back amongst Europe's elite," said Armstrong. "As a Spurs man that is lovely to see.
