It was tough... but Jess never asked me to quit the Jungle

WALKING across the famous bridge after 14 days in the Jungle, Alex Scott's heart sank when she realised girlfriend Jess Glynne was not waiting for her.

The first star to be voted off I'm a Celeb, Alex, 41, was aware family circumstances might keep her pop star partner away.

Before the former Lioness even flew to Oz Jess's mum had a stroke and Alex agonised over whether to pull out of the show.

In the end it was Hold My Hand singer Jess, 36, who told her she had to go ahead.

In a post-exit interview, Football Focus host Alex says: "It's been a tough time for us and obviously her family, and it was a tough decision to come into the Jungle, but Jess never wanted me to step away from doing it.

"I knew there was always a possibility of her not being across the bridge if her mum hadn't got better or if things had been getting worse, which they have been.

"But it was a big decision to not pass this opportunity, and Jess was the one that pushed me to be here." Close pal Regan Coleman was waiting instead with a hug.

Being in the Jungle and not knowing how Jess or her mum were doing was difficult.
