IF LIAM ROSENIOR was happy to take the blame for Robert Sanchez's failings in midweek, he should take a fair share of the credit for his debut Premier League win as Chelsea boss.

Rosenior stood up for the Blues keeper after his howlers helped Arsenal to a 3-2 Carabao Cup semifinal first-leg win at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Sanchez repaid his boss with two huge saves to deliver victory against a Brentford side who showed why they are flying high under boss Keith Andrews.

Joao Pedro produced a high-end finish after the grit of Enzo Fernandez set up their 26th-minute opener.

They were the major pluses for Rosenior, along with Cole Palmer scoring from the spot and playing a full 90 minutes, while fellow injury returnee Reece James lasted 85.
