Coach fears for out-of-gear Brit legend
LEWIS HAMILTON'S recent behaviour is consistent with someone suffering from depression.
That's the astonishing verdict of world-renowned sports mind coach Don Macpherson (below, inset). Seven-times world champion Hamilton claimed he was “useless” at the Hungarian Grand Prix and suggested Ferrari should sack him at the end of the season.
His 12th-place finish was another low in a season which has brought no podium finishes in 14 races and in which he is languishing sixth in the drivers’ championship, 42 points behind his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc.
Macpherson, who has worked with a string of top drivers including former world champion Damon Hill, said: “We have a guy here who I think is in trouble in his head. He's lost in a fog of, 'Poor me'.
“Lewis has suffered from clinical depression in the past and that could be a factor here.
