MCLAREN boss Zak Brown let rip over the “amateur hour” antics of others after both his drivers were taken out of last night's sprint race at the first corner.

Championship leader Oscar Piastri started the 19-lap event third in Austin behind teammate Lando Norris.

But the Aussie was punted into the other McLaren as he tried to cut back up the inside, only to be smashed into by the Sauber of Nico Hulkenberg.

It left the door open for Max Verstappen to cut the gap between him and Piastri in the championship by eight more points before taking to the grid for today’s US grand prix.
