Doc doubles down after strike ace Murray sinks Buds
TONY DOCHERTY insists Simon Murray deserves a Scotland call-up after the striker's latest deadly double downed St Mirren.
The frontman netted in each half to take his tally for the season to 21 with 15 in the league - the same as Celtic's Daizen Maeda.
And Dens boss Docherty said: "Simon is a pivotal player in the team. I said before about possible international recognition and why not?
"He's the highest-scoring Scottish player in the league right now. Every opportunity he gets he scores.
"That second goal today was a really tough finish.
"Simon is grounded, he'll keep going the way he's going.
Despite the win over the Buddies, Dundee remain 11th but they have moved eight points ahead of St Johnstone and are just one point behind Ross County and Kilmarnock.
