It's a season of woe for Saints star
TAYLOR STEVEN has revealed the personal tragedy that puts St Johnstone's relegation in perspective.
The 20-year-old was enjoying a loan spell with Cliftonville until the sudden death of team-mate Michael Newberry on his 27th birthday.
The former Newcastle defender shared a house with Steven, who felt he couldn't continue playing for the Belfast outfit after the tragedy.
Steven has shone for Saints since returning in January but was unable to help them beat relegation.
That pales into insignificance for Steven compared to the horrendous events of December 30.
He said: "My close pal Michael Newberry lost his life.
