Heat pumps used in only 45,000 Scots homes
HEAT pumps account for a tiny fraction of the heating systems installed in Scotland's homes, according to a survey.
The Nationwide building society looked at the size of the nation's housing, comparing dimensions to homes in England, and studied how they are heated.
It found heat pumps, favoured by the Scottish Government as a green alternative to gas, are only installed in 45,000 homes, or just two per cent of the total.
