KEEP RAISING THE ROOFE FOR TITLE

IBROX was bouncing. The stadium was shaking to its foundations. And for Kemar Roofe, sitting amidst the bedlam in the Main Stand, it felt very much like the good vibrations of a club on the rise again.

- BY FRASER WILSON

The Englishman was a guest of Rangers for the tumultuous 4-2 win over league leaders Hearts a fortnight ago.

The former Rangers striker hadn't felt an atmosphere like it since the famous Europa League semifinal victory over RB Leipzig four years earlier.

That feeling, more than anything, has the 33-year-old convinced something special is brewing again in Govan.

Roofe reckons Danny Rohl has got Rangers rocking again.

He only wishes he could pull on the light blue for today’s showdown with Celtic.

Roofe, without a club after leaving Walsall, told MailSport: “Of course I wish I was involved.

“I'm ready to fight and put the shirt on. It's just who you are. Once you've played for Rangers, that's the kind of feeling you get.

“The place was electric against Hearts. At one point, the stand was bouncing, physically moving.

“I go back to the Leipzig game. That was the best atmosphere I've ever witnessed.

“You just can't beat those nights and I feel like that kind of feeling is coming back.

“Hopefully they bring that again on Sunday.

“I always fancy Rangers at home against anybody.

“Even when we were in Europe, it was the same. Ibrox, it's a different place. It's a fortress.”
