JACK IS BACKING RUSSELL
Sunday Mail
|August 31, 2025
JACK BUTLAND insists Rangers' players are united behind under-fire gaffer Russell Martin.
And the Ibrox keeper says it's about time they dug their boss out of a hole by doing their jobs on the pitch.
Martin is feeling the heat after a dismal start to the season when they've failed to win a league game and crashed out of the Champions League to Club Brugge.
He has also faced two stand-offs with star players. Last week.
Hamza Igamane refused to play for him against St Mirren and was subsequently sold to Lille.
And ahead of today's crunch Old Firm derby against Celtic, Martin has left Belgian midfielder Nico Raskin out of his squad.
But Butland, who has been Rangers' best player so far this term, insists the dressing-room is together.
He has backed Martin to turn things aroundstarting today against the Hoops in their first derby showdown of the season.
And Butland says players must repay Martin's faith in them. Asked if the players backed the coach, Butland said: "Absolutely.
"That's something that people are always going to try and drive between us.
