MAX AARONS has warned Rangers skipper James Tavernier he is gunning for his starting slot this season.

The Bournemouth right-back has joined Gers on a season-long loan after becoming the first man to sign up to the Russell Martin revolution.

And the 25-year-old Premier League ace insists he hasn't made the move north so he can sit on the bench.

With almost a century of topflight appearances under his belt, the former England Under-21 ace believes he can play a major role for Martin's new-look Light Blues.
