TV WILDLIFE HOST BLASTS CLIMATE DENIER TRUMP

- BY RICK FULTON

Earth shattering

STEVE Backshall has questioned Donald Trump's intelligence after the US President' called climate change the "greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world".

The TV wildlife presenter described the comments as a "sucker punch" for environmentalists.

During Trump's address at the United Nations General Assembly last week, he criticised the EU for reducing its carbon footprint and claimed countries investing in renewable energy would suffer economically.

Steve, 52, who is bringing his Deadly Live! arena tour to Scotland in November, said: "Nobody intelligent is saying global warming isn't happening. It's the most simple bit of science you can get which shows it's 100 per cent happening and no scientist would ever debate that.

"To hear the most powerful person in the world say that is crazy. I'm not going to say it's not dispiriting. It is. It's a sucker punch.
